Emily Cushing, the third of five children, was raised in South Jordan, Utah. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in Education. After teaching both elementary and middle school, Emily returned to BYU where she received a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning.

Emily enjoys running, reading, and writing. She has had articles published in the Ensign. She also enjoys traveling and has lived in many places including Tonga, Myrtle Beach, and Germany. Above all, Emily loves spending time with her husband and their four children.
